Erica Hocking, B.A., Certified K-12 Special Educator
Director of Social Learning Services and Executive Function Coach/Tutor
Erica Hocking is a Social Skills and Executive Function Coach/Tutor at Frankenberger Associates. She has a broad range of experience working with students and families as a social skills and executive functioning interventionist. As a licensed special educator, she works with students who have a variety of learning disabilities, as well as ADHD and autism spectrum disorders and is a strong advocate for students. Erica has conducted social skills groups and one-on-one sessions for students struggling to understand the social world around them and she has been trained in Social Thinking by Michelle Garcia Winner and is a certified PEERS® professional.
It was through her connections with local parent support groups, that Erica discovered the need for social skills intervention. Her passion for working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder grew from her work at The High Road Learning Center, Meliora Academy, North Haven School System, and Theracare’s Birth to Three Program. The knowledge and experience she gained in these roles have proven instrumental in her ability to help families, and students with complex learning profiles achieve success both at home and in school. Erica also worked with a colleague to open a pediatric therapy center on the Connecticut shoreline in 2013, and she later opened her own business, The Social Stop, where she continued her work with social learning in private and school-based settings.
In her free time, Erica enjoys watching her children play sports (lacrosse, football, basketball), taking hikes with her dog and family, reading a good book, and exercising.
