Executive Function Coach and Academic Tutor
Kristen is an Executive Function Coach at Frankenberger Associates with over 10 years of experience supporting students in their academic, social, and personal growth. With a background in school psychology, she brings a deep understanding of how students learn and develop, and is passionate about helping them build the skills needed to succeed both in and beyond the classroom
Kristen earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stevenson University and her Master’s degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Bowie State University. She has worked across public school, and coaching settings. As a school psychologist, she conducts comprehensive evaluations to identify learning differences and better understand each student’s unique cognitive and social-emotional profile. This experience allows her to create strategies that align with each student’s unique learning profile.
Kristen has partnered closely with students, families, and educators to develop thoughtful, data-informed plans that promote independence and long-term growth. She also brings experience in career coaching for adult learners through her work at Code Fellows, where she supported individuals navigating career transitions, job searches, and professional goal-setting – an area she continues to integrate into her work at Frankenberger Associates.
In her coaching, Kristen focuses on building executive function skills such as planning, organization, time management, self-regulation, and goal-setting. She takes a strengths-based, relationship-driven approach, balancing encouragement with structure to help students build confidence and accountability. She is especially skilled at supporting middle, high school and college students as they manage increasing academic demands, extracurricular commitments, and future planning.
As a former college student-athlete and softball coach, Kristen understands the importance of balance, consistency, and resilience, and incorporates these values into her work. She is committed to helping students become more self-aware, independent learners with practical strategies that translate into real-world success.
Outside of coaching, Kristen enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and staying active through running, strength training, and fitness classes. She is also learning to play golf and loves spending time with her dog, Ginger, as well as with friends and family.
