Director of Social Learning Services and Executive Function Coach/Tutor
Erica Hocking is a dedicated Social Learning and Executive Function Coach at Frankenberger Associates, bringing a deep, advocacy-driven approach to her work with students and families. As a certified special educator, she specializes in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and various learning disabilities. Erica’s extensive experience as an interventionist is built on specialized training, including Social Thinking by Michelle Garcia Winner and certification as a PEERS® professional.
Her passion for social skills intervention was ignited by her work in various educational and therapeutic settings, including public school systems, therapeutic centers, and birth to three programs. Prior to joining FA in 2023, Erica co-founded a pediatric therapy center and later established her own practice, The Social Stop, where she continued her social learning work in private and school-based settings. This background provided her with the instrumental knowledge needed to help students with complex learning profiles achieve success at home and in school.
At FA, Erica focuses on the academic and social hardships faced by teens and young adults navigating secondary and post-secondary education. She is committed to empowering clients to confidently and assertively self-advocate for their specific learning, executive functioning, and social needs. Her comprehensive coaching approach has helped countless clients reach significant life goals, from improving grades and job performance to enhancing social lives, increasing involvement in extracurricular activities, and fostering overall well-being as they enter adulthood.
Furthermore, as a clinical supervisor, she plays a vital role in the growth of the social learning team at FA, spearheading new projects, curricula, and programs. Her greatest reward is forming long-lasting relationships with clients and families, watching their confidence blossom as they achieve major milestones like college acceptances, securing jobs, and navigating new friendships and romantic relationships.
When not coaching, Erica enjoys watching her children play sports (lacrosse, football, basketball, and field hockey), taking hikes with her family and dog, traveling, exercising, or reading a good book.
Frankenberger Associates has had the privilege of helping hundreds of families, schools, and students transform their learning experience.
