Learning Specialist & Executive Function Coach
Andrea is a Learning Specialist, Executive Function and Academic Coach, and Cognitive Trainer at Frankenberger Associates. With more than 30 years of experience, she works with students, college learners, and young adults, helping them develop the skills they need to manage academic demands and everyday responsibilities with greater independence.
As an Executive Function Specialist, Andrea supports clients in areas including task initiation, planning, organization, time management, attention, working memory, self-regulation, goal setting, and self-monitoring. Her approach is highly individualized and collaborative. Rather than simply providing a system to follow, Andrea works alongside each client to develop practical strategies and systems that reflect their strengths, challenges, and real-life needs. By involving clients in the process, she helps them understand what works for them, take greater ownership, and ultimately use these skills more independently.
Andrea is also an experienced Academic Coach with a strong background in reading, writing, study skills, and particularly mathematics. She helps students access challenging curriculum, strengthen their approach to learning, and use technology and other tools effectively to support academic success. Throughout her career, she has worked with students across a broad range of learning profiles and abilities.
Andrea’s work as a Cognitive Trainer grew out of her own firsthand experience with cognitive training and the benefits it can provide. She works with clients to strengthen foundational cognitive skills that support learning and everyday functioning, including processing speed, working memory, sustained and divided attention, cognitive flexibility, reading fluency, and information processing. Having experienced the training herself, Andrea brings a unique perspective to this work and understands the effort, persistence, and practice involved in making meaningful progress.
At the heart of Andrea’s work is her ability to recognize each client’s strengths while helping them develop the skills to navigate areas of challenge with greater confidence and independence. Her philosophy is captured in the words she often shares with her students: “Shine On.” She encourages each client to recognize their strengths, believe in their capabilities, and continue moving forward.
Andrea earned both her B.S. in Elementary Education and her M.Ed. in Special Education from Xavier University. She holds state licenses in K–8 Elementary Education, K–12 Education of the Handicapped, and Educational Supervision. Andrea is also a wife, mother, and pastoral minister who values balance and brings warmth, perspective, and a deep commitment to her work.
Frankenberger Associates has had the privilege of helping hundreds of families, schools, and students transform their learning experience.
